Our primary area of business is south central Pa. and northern Maryland, especially Baitimore and surrounding areas. If your clock is not working, or is not keeping accurate time, contact us and let us advise you.

Small table clocks and small wall clocks are brought to the shop. Grandfather clocks are too large to transport, so we set up an appointment to evaluate them in the customer’s home.

For customers preparing a move, we offer a service to prepare the grandfather clock so it can be moved safely and to minimize the possibility of damage. For local moves, we can move that clock and set it back up in the new location.

Service:

All mechanical clocks should be lubricated roughly every three to four years. These same clocks should be cleaned – taken completely apart, bushed and repaired as needed – about every ten to twelve years. Cleaning removes all ground metal, dust and dirt, any corrosion or rust and removes all of the old oil. Fresh lubrication is applied after re-assembling the movement. The time between servicing depends very much on the environment where the clock is placed. The best location is out of direct sunlight, away from heat or cold and away from forced air vents or baseboard heaters. However, all mechanical clocks must be properly serviced on a regular basis. Servicing should be done by a qualified horologist since to lubricate properly it is necessary to first remove the movement from the case.

We offer in-home service for grandfather clocks located in Eastern Pennsylvania and the greater Baltimore, Maryland area. Smaller clocks should be brought to the shop for evaluation and repair. Clocks are serviced in the order received. Our reputation speaks well for the many restorations we have completed. Many formerly broken clocks are now running and chiming again for the enjoyment of their owners.

Whether a grandfather clock or a mantle clock, after evaluating your clock, we discuss our findings and the cost to repair your clock. Feel free to contact us for further information.
